8. LONDON

L0NDON:
London is a city in the south of England. People first lived in Londinum (in Roman times). The population is about 45'000 in Roman times and now it is about 7'5 million.

There are a lot of interesting places in London and streets, which are called: Trafalgar Square (Battle of Trafalgar), Victoria Street (Queen Victoria).

The people of London are called Londoners, or "Cockneys".
Famous Londoners include Charlie Chaplin (actor) and Arthur Conan Doyle (writer of Sherkock Holmes stories).
